Solution

Work done:

  1. When a force acts on an object, it causes it to movement; work is said to take been done on it.
  2. For piece of work to be done, a forcefulness must be exerted, and there must exist motion or displacement in the direction of the force.
  3. The work done by a force acting on an object equals the magnitude of the force multiplied past the distance moved in the management of the forcefulness. Work has just magnitude and no direction. Hence, piece of work is a scalar quantity.
  4. The work washed by a strength is defined as the product of the component of the force in the management of the displacement and the magnitude.
  5. Mathematically, it tin be expressed every bit,

W=Fdcosθ

Where,

Due west is the work done

F is the strength

d is the displacement

θ is the angle betwixt force and displacement

F cosθ is the component of force in the management of displacement.

Work done by a force applied on a body is:

  1. The work done is positive if the management of forcefulness and displacement are the same.
  2. The work done is zero when force and deportation are perpendicular. If an object is not moving, and then d = 0 , so Westward = 0
  3. If the object is moving in the opposite management to the management of the applied forcefulness, the piece of work done is negative.
